When is Juneteenth in 2023?The Juneteenth Commemoration at Knowlton Park, Ellsworth, ME happens on June 19th from 2pm - 4pm (est)

Is there a Rain Date if the weather turns bad?No, we will move the Commemoration indoors to the nearby Moore Center, 125 State Street, Ellsworth, ME. Check in at the website (www.juneteenthdowneast.org) if the weather looks questionable. We'll update everyone there and by email.

Do I need a ticket for Monday, June 19th at Knowlton Park, Ellsworth?No, you don't need a ticket for Monday's event. Everyone is invited to the Juneteenth Commemoration! We're throwing a block party for the entire Downeast community. Come and join us. There's going to be great music, hands-on activities for both adults and children and lots of delicious food. All for free!

Where are the events taking place?Weekend on the Water (WoW) takes place at Lamoine State Park, ME. Participants are invited to camp overnight both Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th. Check out the numerous activities offered during the WoW. Monday's Juneteenth Commemoration will be held at Knowlton Park in Ellsworth, ME. Starting at 2pm and ending at 6pm. WERU Community Radio will Livestream the event.

Juneteenth is an African-American holiday, is this event only for people of color?No, the Juneteenth Commemoration in Knowlton Park, Ellsworth, ME on Monday, June 19th is open to the entire community. Everyone is invited to participate in the activities we planned, enjoy the food, the music and the company. All are invited!

My family is blended, can we all participate?Yes! The Weekend on the Water was created to introduce people of color to outdoor activities that we may not be familiar with. Family members are welcome! We ask the larger community to understand that there are limited spaces available and so priority will be given to people of color and their families.
